Dan and Robert Zangari's upcoming Secret Project, a "Sword & Sorcery" novel set on the world of Kalda, inspired by Conan the Barbarian, Elric of Melinbone, and John Carter.  It will be available exclusively on their website for a limited time up until the official Kickstarter Launch.

A unique Sword & Sorcery tale set in the Legends of Kalda Universe.  Robert initially started working on this project in tandem with The Dark Necromancer in 2021 with guidance from his writing mentor, David Farland (New York Times Bestselling author of The Runelords).  But after Dave's passing in early 2022, Robert shelved the project.

With the completion of The Dark Necromancer, Robert resumed work on the novel.  It is by far the shortest of our novels.  It will be around 300 pages and in audio format will most likely be around 10 hours.

Some of the elements of this story were hinted at in Heleron's Awakening and Denizen of Cirali (which is exclusive to Rising Wonder: Creatures of Myth & Legend), as well as several epigraphs within part 4 of The Dark Necromancer.

Because Kickstarter requires a complete fulfillment of every reward we're not able to launch another project on the platform until every version of The Dark Necromancer has been fulfilled--that includes the audiobook production.  Delivery on that will not be finished until summer 2025.

So, we're turning to our own website to do some crowdfunding.

Also, by setting this up on our website we're able to charge less, 10% less, and still retain the same profit margins we would make on Kickstarter.

Now, this isn't to say we're going to stop using Kickstarter.  We fully intend to launch every book we publish on Kickstarter before the commercial release.  But this method will allow us to crowdfund multiple projects.  And, by being an early adopter you get some extra perks, which we'll list below.

But supplies are limited, specifically to 104 eBooks, 52 paperbacks, and 52 hardcovers. 

Once they are sold out, they're gone.

Since we don't have a "funding goal" the money we raise from each sale will go toward the cost of editing the novel, which will be less than $1,000.

Robert has done the cover art, so the overall production cost will be considerably less than our large epics.  Although, if certain stretch goals are met during the Kickstarter we might upgrade the cover, thus making these version a one of a kind.

When each version (eBook, paperback, and hardcover) sell out we'll be "in the black".

Then with the Kickstarter, we will able to focus all the funds we raise on producing the audiobook edition, which will roughly cost us $5,600~.

This method of raising funds will ensure the book gets release in all formats.

Everyone who purchases a copy of this "Secret Project" will have their name placed in a special acknowledgements section at the back of the novel, as well as the regular Kickstarter acknowledgements.  But this edition will ONLY contain the special acknowledgements section.

EBooks will be personalized, featuring letters and a hand-written "To <your name>" on the title page.  The lettered copies will be "AAaa" for the eBook while the physical copies will be "Aa"  (i.e. if you're the 27th person to purchase a copy your lettered edition would be "Bb")

104 eBooks are available while only 52 paperbacks and 52 hardcovers will be printed in this edition.

The title page will also list "Limited Lettered <format, i.e. Paperback, Hardcover> Edition" to distinguish between the "Kickstarter Edition" and the regular print editions. 

Each physical edition will come with sprayed edges and a limited edition foil bookmark.

*If you don't want your name listed, or you want a different name listed than what appears on your order, please send us a message via our website.

Delivery of these books will occur two to three months after we've sold 100 copies (roughly half of what we're offering), and prior to the launch of the Kickstarter.

Unfortunately, we do not have exact dates because it will be dependent on when we receive orders.  But we do have a time frame of how the process will work once we've received those 100 orders.

• Once we've reached that 100 threshold we'll have raised enough money to pay for the editing.  Since the novel is shorter than those of Tales of the Amulet, the editing time should be less than one month. 
• If we have not sold out, we will set a closing date for orders so we can finalize the acknowledgements list. 
• After orders are closed and the edits have been complete, we'll submit an order to our printer. 
• We should receive the books about a month after that (though it could take up to as long as two months). 
• During that time you'll receive your ebooks via an email from Robert. 
• Once we receive the books we'll immediately sign, letter, and spray them, a process which will probably take 2 to 3 days.

*Note: If you check your order on Shopify it will say "fulfilled." We're trying to resolve an issue where Shopify is automatically marking physical books as fulfilled.
